I am attending my cousin's very big southern wedding this weekend. I have two main dresses to choose from. They are both strapless. One is black with white underneath; it's lacy. It is the more formal of the two. The other is more of a "party" dress. It is deep teal with a netting underneath and kind of poofs at the bottom. Which is better for which occasion. There is a rehearsal dinner and a seperate cocktail hour(s) afterwards. Is teal too attention grabbing for the wedding itself? Should I stick with the more formal choice for the wedding? Thank you for your help!

Can we get more info such as time of day, type of venue, formality of the event and the invitation? Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

The wedding itself is at 4:30pm on Saturday with the rehearsal dinner the night before of course. The invitations are formal and the wedding itself is very big and seemingly formal. The ceremony is in a church and the reception is at the Clinton Library in Little Rock, AR.

My opinion would be that the teal dress would be great for the Rehearsal dinner and the other for the wedding. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

I agree. But, for the ceremony you will want to wear some sort of cover-up, because the wedding is in a church. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
