I will be attending my first wedding in a few weeks (i am in university) and have a few questions.
Is it appropriate/the norm to wear the same dress to the wedding ceremony and the reception? The wedding is at 2:30 in a church, and the reception not until 6:30 at a different venue. Also, if there is no dress code specified, would a grey suit jacket over all black be suitable for my date to wear? I plan on wearing a knee length short-sleeved black dress with pink and grey floral print to the ceremony (and possibly the reception if appropriate).
Thank you!

Re: [secret] Same dress for wedding and reception?

You can definitely wear the same dress to the reception as the ceremony, most guests will probably do that. If you want to wear something different, then you can wear a dressy pant/skirt outfit (business attire) to the church and then your dress to the reception. Sometimes when there is a big gap of time between the two and you have time to relax and change, then guests will wear different outfits. Just make sure that your outfit to the church is appropriate for church and the occasion. The outfit your date is wearing sounds perfect.
