Sept Wedding - sister of the groom

My brother is getting married this Sept and I need help with what to wear. The Wedding is at 4:00 in a church and the reception is from 6:00 - 11:00 at a hotel. The invitation is fairly formal. What is appropriate to wear? I do have a black floor length gown (no sequins or beads just black). Would this work?

I would go with the black dress that you have. It is perfect, simple and elegant...you can't go wrong. Since it has no beadwork or sequins I would suggest adding some great accessories. For example you could wear a cool pair of chandalier earrings with a bracelet, a crystal necklace with a beaded bag, you could even add some sparkle to your hair by adding crystal hair pins. See...you don't need sparkles in your dress to shine. Wearing a black dress is like starting with a fresh canvas...you have endless possibilities. Make sure you add you own personal style when picking out your accessories and HAVE FUN with it.

Have fun!
