I have been invited to a wedding by a friend for September. I do not know the couple...
It is a Saturday wedding which will begin at 3 and continue into the evening, with cocktails and supper being served. Dancing to follow at the reception.
What on earth should I wear? I have not been to a wedding since I was a child and have no idea what is proper attire to wear to a wedding. Especially one where I do not know the people getting married.
I have been told it is formal and the guys will be wearing suits...

Dear Guest,
If the men are wearing suits, you could wear a cocktail dress--the little black dress or its equivalent. Choose one that is modest since the wedding is during the day.
