     Sister of the Groom

My brother is getting married mid August, I am not in the wedding, but will be in pictures. His finance wore a red dress to my wedding and in pictures it was a little too bold. I am afraid to do this to her and wonder what is acceptable to wear. The wedding is a 2pm Catholic wedding with reception following at a typical reception hall. I also will have a 4mo. old at the time of the wedding, so I want to make sure when I am carrying her I will be comfortable and look out of place. Can you help?? Unsure

Dear Sister,

The red dress was a big mistake. It is the only color that should not be worn at weddings these days.

Typically, as a guest, you would wear what you would to a nice restaurant. However, if you are to be in the pictures, it may be best to wear a cocktail style dress with a jacket. Any color besides red is fine.

Best wishes,
