     Sister to the groom

Question....I am sister to the groom along with my daughter being the flowergirl as well and I have a question about what to wear.

It is an evening wedding, semi-formal to dressy casual and I purchased a black skirt with a blue silk sweater to wear (nice outfit) and with that is black pumps and a beautiful scarf to wear to tie the outfit together. Is that ok? My problem is that my daughter has special needs and is the flowergirl so I will be doing alot of lifting and postioning her along with dealing with her medical equiptment (suctioning, etc) so I need to be as comfortable ad possible as well. I am a plus sized woman (on my way down ;)) and have tried a million dresses on and nothing is as comfortable as the outfit that I bought. Again I stress that along with being the sister to the groom I am also the 'nurse' who will be doing lifting and getting my daughter ready for photo's and things.

Sorry for the long post, I am not much on dressing up and want to be as comfortable as possible along with not feeling out of place.

Thanks in advance!

Dear Flowergirl mom,

Your outfit sounds perfect. You need to be comfortable especially since you will be doing lifting, and it sounds like the outfit does that for you. Since you are accessorizing with the scarf you are dressing the outfit up. If you want it too look a little more formal you can add a nice pair of earrings (sparkly), so that brings more attention upward towards your beautiful face. I know you said you were wearing pumps, just make sure they are comfortable. Since you are going to be helping your daughter you want to make sure your feet don't hurt. You can bring a second pair of shoes (flats) to change into when your feet hurt. You can even wear a ballet slippers, which are flat, easy to walk in, and super trendy this season. Other than that it sounds like you are set.

Have a nice time at the wedding!

Thank you, thank you! Actually the shoes are comfortable but I am taking a second pair, flats, for the reception where we will be doing some dancing (with my beautiful 4 year old in my arms....LOL) so I want to be comfortable for THAT!

Thanks again for your reply! I am looking forward to having a good time at the wedding, it is this Friday :).
