     Southern Evening Wedding

I have a family wedding to attend on 6/4 in Alabama in the evening. I've been told that southern evening weddings are formal - Is this true? Does this mean that I shouldn't wear pants?

Dear Margie,

The only time I would suggest to wear pants is if the wedding is informal, or if the pants are dressy and look more like a long skirt. If the pants are like that, then definitely wear them. All of the other woman will be jealous that you are so comfortable. Other than that I would suggest to wear a dress or a skirt outfit.

A great way to find out how formal the wedding will be, if not stated on the invitations, is to call the reception hall. This way you can figure out what would be best.

Good luck,
