     They do things differently...

Hi, I live in Missouri and am going to an August wedding in Chicago and have no idea of what to wear. The last wedding I went to in Chicago, almost everyone was wearing black (here in good ol' MO, no one had ever heard of such a thing Smile

Can I wear a black cocktail dress to a wedding on August 27 at 4:00 pm? This wedding is being held outdoors in a garden. And the reception is immediately following. If black is not ok, how about chocolate? Or even wine? I really prefer a solid color dress to a print. And of course would keep the fabric light and cut airy.

Dear Living in MO,

Sure you could, but if what you say is correct, you may be the only one. Any cocktail type dress will do. But, stay away from the reds, it attracts the eye. Wine may be fine as long as it is dark.

Best wishes,
