Velour for October wedding

Hi, I will be attending a wedding at 6 Oct. 15th. I have a black dress, with the top part of the dress made out of velour.

Is it too early in the season for velour?

It is hard to say what is appropriate to wear for the season especially since the weather has been so hot. Technically it is Fall and velour is a Fall material. However, with the weather being so hot velour might be too heavy. My suggestion is to go with a dress that is more weather appropriate.
