Wearing a full length gown to a formal black tie wedding?

I am attending a black tie, evening garden wedding in June. Do I have to wear a full length gown or can I wear something that comes to my knees?

Dear Guest,

Black tie for women can be the cocktail dress. We are lucky to have options.

Best wishes,
