Wedding guest attire for afternoon wedding

We will be attending a 4 PM wedding and reception at an historic mansion in Baltimore, MD in Novemeber.

The bride is a co-worker of mine, the groom is my husband's boss.

No mention of attire on the invitation.

What would be appropriate guest attire for this wedding?

Dear Wedding Guest,

Because this is 'semi' work related, dress conservatively. The little black dress or its equivalent works well because this is an evening affair. So, wear anything within that same formality as long as it is also conservative. A very nice dress with a jacket is nice.

Best wishes,
