     What to wear

I have an outdoor wedding in Texas, September 24th at 6:00 with the reception to follow outside as well. I'm wondering if what I have to wear is ok, its a black spaghetti straped dress that goes to the knee, with black heels.

Dear Hilary:

It sounds like what you plan on wearing is fine as long as the wedding/reception isn't formal.

A simple black dress can go a long way. The dress that you described sounds perfect. Depending on how formal the wedding is you might want to think about your accessories. If the wedding isn't formal you can wear simple accessories, but if the wedding is formal you need to dress up your dress. The only reason I say that is because your dress is to the knee which makes it a little less formal. Luckily for you, tea length and knee length dresses are trendy.

Back to a formal wedding and adding accessories. You can dress up your dress by wearing rhinestone/crystal chandelier earrings with a matching bracelet, or a nice neckace that stands out with hair jewelry, and don't forget about your bag. I suggest a nice beaded or metallic clutch. Just by adding accessories to your "little black dress" you can make it more formal. If you like these ideas and the wedding isn't formal, you can still add these wonderful accessories but make sure you tone it done. You can do that by using crystals instead of rhinestones.

Have fun!
