I am at a complete loss as to what to wear for a mid October wedding in Minnesota. The weather can be quite unpredictable, it could be cold and snowy or warm and sunny. The wedding begins with a church ceremony at 3:00 and then a reception/dinner and dance to follow. My boyfriend is in the wedding and will be wearing a black tux. This is also the first time I will be attending one of his family functions and will be meeting most of his relatives for the first time.
I am very unsure of what to wear as I want to be dressed appropriately but want want to be wearing something that I won't freeze in should it be snowing and cold. I also want to give a good first impression to my boyfriend's relatives that I will be meeting for the first time. Please help! What suggestions do you have?

Dear Guest,
You would dress as one of the guests and not match the formality of his attire, which is incorrect for a daytime wedding--sorry, had to mention it.
Not knowing the formality of the event besides the tux, I would imagine that a toned down cocktail dress (the little black dress or its equivalent) would be your best bet.
Don't worry about the cold. If it is cold, wear a coat. But, the events will be indoors.
