Hi My husband and I have been invited to a wedding that starts at 4:30. It is an outdoor wedding overlooking the beach(not on the beach). Before we received the invite I was thinking the weeding was at 7:00, so I bought an A-line satin long skirt with a black top. Will this still be ok to wear? What should my husband wear as well?
The reception is in doors.

Dear What to Wear,
Your skirt seems too formal. You may appear as if you are in the bridal party. More than likely the attire will be cocktail attire, which is the little black dress or its equivalent for you and a suit for your husband.

Thank you for your reply. Should my husband wear a dark suit.

If this is hosted in a warmer climate or in the warmer months, then a lighter jacket would be expected. If not, then darker is best. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
