I'm going to a destination wedding in the Bahamas where my boyfriend's sister is going to get married. I asked the bride what I should wear and she suggested wearing a cocktail dress that doesn't go below the knees. Should I go formal or not? The guys are going to be wearing suits, but the girls that are going are from NYC and are quite stylish. I live in California. Confused,

If the men are in suits, you would be wearing a cocktail dress. This is the little black dress or its equivalent.
