I am going to a 3pm wedding with my boyfriend on the 17th of December. I am not in the wedding & neither is my boyfriend but he is filming the wedding. It is for a really good friend of his. I have never been to a winter wedding, or even a day wedding for that matter, and have no idea of what I am supposed to wear. It is in a church & I am going to both the wedding and the reception. I am not sure if I should wear black pants and a sweater, cardigan, nice top. I am really in the dark. Could you please give me some insite on what i should wear. I probably have to go buy something new, so what should I look for?

Dear What to Wear,
It is difficult to know with out knowing the formality of the event. If this is a Catholic wedding, it will be more formal. If not, your outfit may be fine. It is a bit casual though.
Dressing as you would to a very nice restaurant should be fine. Pay close attention to modesty in your outfit. Because this will be held in a church guest should wear more conservative clothing.

Ok that is great to know. I am not exactly sure just how formal this wedding is. It is a Methodist wedding & my boyfriend is wearing a suit & i know jeans is out of the question-haha. But i am still kind of in the dark. What kind of pieces should i look for when i am out shopping for an outfit? Do i look for black pants, neutral pants...a sweater, a camisole top w/ a jacket over it, a nice button down collared shirt....I mean i don't know what to look for. Thank you soo much.

The dark slacks, cami, and jacket would be awesome. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
