I will be attending a wedding in Texas in October; it is a 7 pm ceremony with reception following but I received no dinner choice with the invite. Would you assume the dress is formal,cocktail,or semi-formal? I tend to think it can't be formal if there is no seated dinner and it starts at 7; but since it is in Texas and late I am wondering what is appropriate.

Dear Texas Wedding,
Not everyone includes menu choices with their response cards. This very well could be a buffet.
I believe that cocktail attire would be your best choice in this case.
