formal brazilian wedding - what's appropriate

Hello,

I am invited to a formal wedding in Brazil. It will be at 7pm. The groomsmen will be wearing tails which has me worried about my attire. What is appropriate? The wedding will be May 5th.

I was thinking of a black, lace v-neck sheath gown or a satin coral gown (a muted coral, not bright at all). Both gowns are floor length. Will one of these work or do I need something more elaborate?

Thank you!

Dear Brazilian Wedding,

Either dress sounds appropriate. Typically the bridal party dress more formally than the guests.

A very nice cocktail dress would be fine as well.

Best wishes,
