guest attire for 5PM yacht wedding

I am attending a 5pm church wedding followed by a reception at a yacht club. The wedding is at the end of August on a Friday night. Do I have to go with black or can I wear color? If black is the best choice, would it be a faux pas to wear the same dress that I wore to the groom's brother's wedding 3 years ago?

Dear Guest,

The little black dress is just a theme. Just wear the equivalent of the dress. It can definitely have color.

It is not a faux pas and I doubt anyone will remember a dress from 3 years ago. I don't remember what my husband wore yesterday :)
