I have a wedding to attend this month (August). Ceremony at 5pm, reception immediately after. Invite looks informal (royal blue and purple colors), does not specify attire at all. Do I still wear the customary cocktail dress and darker evening sandals? Or can I get away with wearing an off the shoulder pink stretch silk georgette top with ivory colored silk double lined georgette pants with very high slits on the sides and silver evening sandals that have Austrian crystals on them and austrian crystal teardrop earrings?

Re: [dlavanway] guest attire for August evening wedding

Normally I would suggest going with traditional cocktail attire for the wedding. The only reason why I am leaning toward the formal pants outfit is because of your accessories. The shoes and earrings that you want to wear sounds stunning and make the outfit more formal. So my suggestion is to go with the pants outfit.
