men's guest attire for morning wedding

My brother is getting married at 10 AM in October in Austin. The wedding and reception will be formal, with wedding party in tuxedos and a sit down lunch. Should my husband wear a suit, or is a sports jacket appropriate?

Dear Formal During the Day,

Actually, your brother should be wearing a morning suit. Formal daytime wear for men is a morning suit, not a tux. A tux is worn for evening formals.

Your husband should at least wear a suit. He could even wear a morning suit.
