     wedding attire

I have never been to a wedding so I do not know the rules for what is appropriate to wear. I am attending my cousings wedding, she is having it out of town. I just need to know the only nice outfit I have is a teal top and a white skirt with teal embroidery along the bottom. Is this an appropriate outfit to wear to a wedding? Thank you.

You'll have to provide more information such as the type of venue, month and time of day.

It is an outdoor wedding, in a park. It is this coming Saturday at 4:30 in the afternoon.

This will be fine. Most probably anything you would wear to a nice restaurant would be appropriate.

Re this outfit, I was speaking to a friend now that I have decided on wearing this and was told that wearing a white skirt to a wedding is something that should not be done. What is the rule on this?

Wearing a dress that could be a wedding dress would be inappropriate. But, wearing white is no longer a faux pas. This is old thinking.

Wearing red is also a no-no. Red draws the eye away from the bride.
