This will be the first time time I will be a guest at a wedding and I would like to know what sort of attire is appropriate for me. I'm the fiancee of the Groom's cousin (a teenager) and this is the first time I will be meeting his extended family! I really need to make a good impression. I just dont know the apprropite attire rules for guests : Colors? Dress/ skirt vs. Dress pants? Length? Does the time of day effect the attire. And also, age of the guest? (I'm 17)
(I have a knee-length dress, beige with a pink/green floral print, but its strapless... and also pinstripe trousers with a mauve blouse... but are either of them even options?)

Re: [indigo_fae] wedding attire for a teenager

Dear Teen,
The formality of the event will dictate what you should wear. Yes, time of day is an indicator also. Because we don't know the formality, I will guess.
Choose an outfit that you would feel comfortable wearing to a nice restaurant with your fiance's parents--no bare belly. Choose something conservative, showing the least amount of skin, nothing too tight, and nothing too short is best.
You could also ask an older woman who is attending if she knows what the dress code will be. That would help.
