wedding reception only in minnesota at noon

My cousin already had a wedding and reception in Texas but is having another reception this weekend in Minnesota at a country club. The reception starts at noon. What would be appropriate to wear for this? I have a navy knee-length voile pleated skirt and a cream sweater top- is this too casual? I am also worried about the 30 degree weather. Would bare legs be wrong etiquette-wise aside from the chill factor? Are there any pants that might be appropriate? Thank you for your help!

Dear Cold Bare Legs,

It is quite common for couples to host multiple receptions, because family may live in multiple locations. We tend to spread out, don't we?

Most probably, dressing for a very nice outing would be best. Your outfit sounds fine. Bare legs are appropriate if you are wearing open shoes. If not, it would be better to wear hose.

There are plenty of great pant suits these days. Just make sure that it would be an outfit that you would wear to the nicest restaurant.

Best wishes,
