Does the father of the bride wear the same attire as the rest of the bridal party
I know that this question has been answered a few times, but I am still not completely clear on it. If the men in the bridal party are wearing tuxedos I understand from the answers that so should the father of the groom. What I wonder is should he wear exactly the same as the bridal party or a different color? Should he be wearing the same as the father of the bride? Would a suit be inappropriate? I would not want him to be under-dressed but I thought maybe the father of the bride was supposed to be the only one dressed like the rest of the bridal party since he has a role in the wedding. Thank you very much. Karena

Dear Karena,
In the last few years the rule of all men wearing the same attire has relaxed just a little. Some etiquette professionals state that if the father of the groom is not playing a role, he could wear something else. Even with this wiggle room, it would be 'best' if he wears exactly what the other men are wearing. He will be in the pictures and it typically looks better if he is dressed in the same attire.
