Groomsmen wearing black and white tuxes, groom twear all black
Our wedding is black and white. Bride's dress is all white and the bridesmaids' dresses are black and white polka dots. My groomsmen are wearing black and white tuxes and I want to wear an all black tux - same style - just all black. Would this be a good idea?

Dear Man in Black,
You really should be dressed the same as all of your groomsmen. It is appropriate to have small differences, such as a different colored bow tie. But, all of you should be dressed similar.
Plus, if this is held during the warmer months or in a warm climate, it is considered proper to wear white or ivory tuxes in the evening. The tuxedo is formal evening attire.
But, this is your wedding and these are your choices. Sometimes style wins out over tradition.

Thank you for the reply. Our wedding is actually in October, on the friday 13th, so I guess I should go try it on and see for sure if that's what I really want.
