My future husband and I are having a debate about what color to have for him and his groomsmen. The bridesmaids are going to be in lavender and purple rain (ligher shade of dark purple)dresses. We are getting married on the beach in Long Island. It is a formal afternoon wedding. Ceremony is at 11:30. What color do you suggest for him?groomsmen? FOB? grandfather? We do not want black. We were thinking gray or beige suits? Let me know of any ideas. Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm not the color or fashion expert, but I can pipe in about the suits. Suits are very appropriate for this time of day.
If it were me, I would choose gray. I think it would blend much better than beige with your lighter shade of purple.
