I will be getting married next August in a church at 3pm. We want to have the women dressed in short dresses and we dont like white tie. So, to compromise, we wonder if we can have the men in black tie with a white jacket. In other words, the summer tux. Is this appropriate attire for a church?
Thank ou so much!

Re: Tux with white jacket for church wedding

Dear janherud,
The tux is formal evening attire and yours is not formal and is not in the evening. All members of the bridal party should be dressed in the same formality. So, with the ladies in semi formal, or cocktail attire, and the men in formal attire, it might appear a bit odd.
The white jacket is proper for formal evening events in the summer and warm locations though.
