best men in vests only

Can i have my best men wear vests only, no tux. I have four of them.

The wedding is in the evening from 5pm-10pm and the theme is smart casual

Dear Limbika,

I've never heard of anyone doing this, especially for a wedding. But, that doesn't mean no one has.

The attire should be a suit, but if the vests and slacks are high quality and match the formality of the bridesmaids' attire, it will be fine.
