Hi. I need help! I'm getting married in May, and the groom will be wearing his navy blue Air Force tuxedo. What do the groomsmen wear to match him? I have found one tux shop that rents out a navy tux, but a couple of people have told me that navy blue tuxedos are kind of tacky. Is that just a funny line from "Father of the Bride," or is there really something strange about wearing a navy tux?
Otherwise, would it look silly for his groomsmen to wear black tuxedos if the groom is in blue?

Sorry for not making that point clear -- none of the groomsmen are in the military. I just need to know what color tuxedo they should wear, since the groom will be in navy blue.

Dear EllenBR, then they would wear the traditional tuxedo. I believe that the formality of a military wedding would dictate that it be black. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com and http://www.coordinatorscorner.com

Thanks for your help! It's not actually a military wedding, though. Just a regular wedding, but the groom will be in his Air Force tuxedo. I just wasn't sure if it would match to have the groomsmen in black, or whether they should wear blue as well.

The groomsmen could wear the traditional black--no problem. But, if this event is being held during the day, formal attire for men is the stroller, not a tux. A tuxedo is formal evening attire.
