My fiance is wearing a tux for our wedding this September. My bridal party is wearing pink, and I thought the men could wear platinum ties with their tuxs, as I dont think they would be fond of wearing pink. does this mean they also need a platinum vest? Also, I know the groom should stand out, so what colr tie and vest should he wear? Black? What about the fathers, and ushers? Do they wear the same colors as the groomsman, and best man? Lastly, my FMIL bought our son, the ring bearer a tux, but said it isnt meant for a tie, but a bow tie. I dont understand why. If that is the case, cant I just buy a nice white dress shirt for him to wear under it instead? Should his colors match the grromsman or my fiances?? I am so lost!
I'm not a tuxedo expert and I would suggest that you contact a Tuxedo shop and ask one of their specialists their opinion. Their suggestions would be much more informed. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
It is best to find out about the other choices on vests. There is no etiquette here. It is a personal choice. However, the groom doesn't have to stand out. Typically all of the groomsmen and groom dress the same. The groom may wear a different color tie if he wishes.
The tie that is traditionally worn with the tux is a bow tie, not a regular straight tie. So, your son's bow tie is perfect. You may want to choose the same for all of the others.
The fathers dress the same as all of the other groomsmen. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
