2pm wedding in Hawaii and groom wants to be formal

Our wedding is at 2 pm so that we can have a sunset cruise at 5 pm in Hawaii. The groom wants to stay on the formal side (even though it is an outdoor wedding). I've been reading these posts that say a tux is really only for the evening. I plan to wear a traditional white A-line dress (on the formal side). What should the groom be wearing?

Dear Mauiwedding,

He could wear a nice suit or stroller.

Best wishes,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Yes, the tux is really for the evening. But a nice light color (cream or off-white) suit will look formal enough to compliment your dress. Enjoy the wedding!
