I've been researching the excellent advice here but haven't found a topic that quite covers our situation...our daughter is having a beach wedding in Florida in August, at 6:30 pm. Her groomsmen are wearing black 2-button notch lapel tuxedos with regular ties and vests in silver.
This is kind of formal for a beach wedding, but that's what they've decided on. Now, the thing is, she'd like the fathers to just wear cool, informal suits. I am thinking that we should properly wear tuxes like the groomsmen.
I have no problem with dressing any way she prefers and neither does the FOG, I just don't want all the attention focused on two "sore thumbs" at the ceremony. Would lighter-color tuxes be a good compromise, or should we just go with some kind of summer suit and hope for the best? What are your suggestions?
All of the men should be dressed the same. But, if this is what she wants and the fathers don't have a role in the wedding, no one should notice. If they do have a role, they really should be dressed the same or they will be noticed.
