I am having a beach wedding (possibly poolside) in March in Gulf Shores, AL. The ceremony will be between 5-6, with the reception at 7pm. We want it to be fun, not stuffy, but still nice, and not too formal (perhaps semi-formal?). I will be wearing a white wedding dress with pick-up skirt, with aqua/turqouise accents. By MOH will be in aqua/turqouise, but a shorter dress. I don't want very formal, but nice enough so I can wear a normal wedding dress. My question is: what should my hubby-to-be wear? Is a linen suit too informal when paired with my dress? My dress isn't all glitzy - no beading, lace or anything else. Just the pick-up skirt and accent color. Also, if linen is OK, I can't see him wearing a bright white linen suit. He would look better in ivory. Would that look bad paired with my white dress? What color shirt would he wear? I would have him wear a tie to match my accent/bridesmaid color. Please advise!
Not knowing the formality or exact shade of your dress, I'm going to say that white or light linen suits could have a tendency to make your dress look dirty or off color. It's a good idea to check the fabrics together prior to settling on the men's wear. This is why it is most often not advisable for a white limo to be used in pictures of the bride in her dress.
