     Father of groom attire?

My husband's son & his fiance are getting married in September just before Labor Day. The wedding will be in a beautiful garden in a well known park in our area with about 175 guests in attendance. The bridesmaid colors are cranberry red & cream, with the groomsmen in black tuxes. I may be wearing a pink dress. Is it proper for my husband to wear a black suit? Or is he required to wear a tuxedo? Should my 11 year old son, who's not in the wedding party, wear a suit, or can his attire be more casual? Thanks so much for your input!

This sounds like a formal wedding so your husband should wear what the groom and his party wear. Your pink dress sounds lovely with the cranberry the bridesmaids will wear and I am sure you will all look great in the photos. Your son should wear a suit and tie. If the expense makes you cringe (when will he ever wear this suit again?) try a local thrift or consignment shop.
