     Formal Wedding Dress and Suit

Hello,

I'all be wearing a formal wedding dress and the plan is for my groom to wear a really nice suit he bought for the occasion. It's a black italian wool suit. He will wear it with a vest and tie, and the groomsmen will wear suits as well. Is this acceptable? I'm not really a big fan of tuxes, but I'm beginning to wonder if the suit will be out of place with my formal wedding dess. We are having a wedding in a chapel with 35 family members and close friends in attendance. The reception will be a sit down dinner in a penthouse overlooking the city.

Any comments appreciated.

Sandy

Dear Sandy,

If your dress is formal, the proper attire for your groom would be the morning suit, also called the cutaway for the daytime and the tux for the evening. But, if this is not a formal affair and your gown is semi-formal, he could wear the suit.

This is your wedding though and so many are mixing styles and no one seems to notice.

So, you have both sides--the most proper and the growing trend.

Best wishes,
