I need some advice on what my groom and his boys should wear for the wedding. It will be a semi-casual wedding in a park during the afternoon. My girls will be wearing chocolate brown and the wedding is in october. Neither of us really have any solid ideas. Abviously tuxedos are out. I had also suggested that they wear black button-down shirts with black pants and black ties but my fiance didn't seem like that was what he wanted to wear. So, i actually need some help.

Dear Bride,
I am a tuxedo specialist and I can advise you about formalwear. I always reccomend tuxedos and matching accessories. A wedding cannot be considered casual. There is no such thing as a lifetime event in one's life as being referred to as a casual affair or occasion. Please rethink, and choose a tuxedo for the guys, you will be thankful that you did in the future, and your wedding album will thank you.

Dear Wedding in the Park,
I'm sorry to have to disagree with David because he really knows his tuxedos. But, from an etiquette point of view, yes there are casual weddings.
Casual weddings can be the most memorable. Women in flowery dresses in the park... beautiful.
You said that yours is semi-formal, in the park, and during the day. Tuxedos are evening formal attire, so these would not do. Slacks and button down shirts are too casual, actually dressy casual. Suits are expected for your style of wedding unless you are to dress down.
There are some great etiquette books that have examples of what all of you would be wearing according to the time of day and what you want to wear--the formality of the event.

Black is a classic and a good choice for this time of year. But, navy is awesome also and is versatile for future wear. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now

And, if you feel that the black won't work either, please pick up an etiquette book. Most will give you plenty of options.
... if this is being held during warm months, suits in lighter colors would work too. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
