Please give me some advice. June 1, 2006 my fiance and I are getting married and there is only going to be about 4 other guests there. We are looking to have a casual wedding but I am unsure on what to have him wear. He has never dressed up before and I was wondering what would work.

Dear Wants to Keep it Casual,
He can wear just about anything if this is a small casual wedding. If you are dressing up, he should match you. So, if you are wearing a casual wedding dress, he would wear either a suit or a sport jacket and slacks depending on the formality of your gown.
It also depends on the location. If you were marrying on a ranch, he could even wear jeans. This could definitely be a theme affair.

Dear Bride,
There is no such thing as a casual wedding, tuxedos only for everyone.

I'm sorry, but I respectfully disagree.
There are many different types of weddings with varying degrees of formality. Many grooms wear only suits, which is appropriate for an informal wedding. Plus, a small wedding with so few guest, especially if this is held during the day doesn't support the premise of wearing a tuxedo. A tuxedo is evening formal wear.
This couple could marry in the court house and wear their street clothes. They would still be married and it would still be a wedding.
Their attire should match the formality of the event. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
