     Ivory Dinner Jackets

I have a HUGE dilemma with our wedding attire. The groom and groomsmen are wearing Ivory dinner jackets upon the groom's request. We are having a November wedding in South FL at a beautiful country club.
It is a semi-formal affair with the ceremony beginning
at 6:30pm. It is "40's" theme, big band, etc. I thought it would be nice to have the ivory dinner jackets instead of the traditional black tux becuase the bridesmaids are wearing chocolate brown. I hear some of the guests are planning to wear tuxedos, so now I am worried that our guests will comment on the inappropriateness of the grooms' chosen attire.

Dear Alwhite,

Actually, a dinner jacket is basically a tux. So, you should be fine. We don't typically wear white or shades of white this time of year, as it is getting cooler. But, in Florida, it is fine.

Best wishes,
