I am getting married this Sept. (9/20) and I have picked out an ivory tuxedo with a periwinkle vest (wedding colors). Will this look right? I'm struggling to stay with the tux and thinking of switching to a black tux with an ivory vest. My bride will have a ivory color dress. Groomsmen have the black tux with periwinkle vest. I just want to make sure that this is apprioriate and that I don't look bad. I feel my complexion and hair color (black) will make me look very good in the light color tux. I should mention that the wedding is in the morning. If it was a late afternoon, early evening wedding, I wouldn't have no hesitation to wear black but I think a morning, early afternoon wedding is a little less formal. I know there are rules like after labor day, you shouldn't wear white but does it really apply to weddings?

Re: Ivory Tuxedo for Morning Wedding

Dear Blades,
That is an old rule that was in affect before people traveled from cold to warm climates in a day. But, the rule that is still in affect is that the tux is a evening formal attire. We wear a suit or morning suit (stroller) during the daytime. Dark is best for all of the men, as they should all wear the same color.
