     Jamaica wedding

We are getting married at the end of March in Jamaica at 2:30pm. I have read your post on the Bahamas wedding and it helped a lot.

My fiance and his friends really do not want to dress up too formally. I really think they need to wear a suit or something semi-formal because of our dresses. I did go with a strapless dress with no train. The bridesmaids dresses are semi-formal. They are A-length but have a summer halter top. I liked your idea of suits. But can we get away with khakis and a white dress shirt? If so, what does the groom wear to make him "stand out."

Also, does the grooms father need to dress up? Last night he told me he really wants to wear jeans, I just about died.

Thanks,

Kayla:

What do you mean by "A-Length?"

Knowing the length of your dress and the bridesmaids' dresses will help us determine the formality of the wedding.

I am so sorry! I meant to type A-line. Okay they are tea length. I have added a picture it is the same but it is in buttercup not pink. I don't have one of my wedding dress.

Dear Jamaica Bound,

Your men really should be in suits. Your dresses are cocktail dresses, which calls for men in suits. All of the men, including the fathers should be in the same suit as the groomsmen.

That is a far cry from jeans! Good luck with the groom's father.

Best wishes,
