Linen suits or tuxedos for a Key West wedding?

Hello,

My fiance and I are getting married in mid-July in Key West. He wants to wear a tuxedo but I am not sure if he will be sweating with all the humidity and heat. We were thinking a linen suit as an alternative, but I read a tuxedo retailer write that linen does not actually breathe as well as the material of a tuxedo. I was not sure and thought I'd post my question to you. What do you think would be the best bet. I just don't want him to be sweating through his clothes and getting all wrinkled, nor do I want his groomsmen to suffer in the heat depending on our choice.

thanks, j

Dear Santos,

Most rental tuxes are polyester, so they don't breathe well. Linen does.

Tuxedos are evening formal attire, so if this is held during the day, it wouldn't be proper.

His attire should match yours in formality. If this is formal and held during the day, a stroller may be best. But, a very nice suit could do as well if you are not too formal.

Best wishes,
