Should Father of the Groom Wear Tuxedo

My son is getting married the week end before Labor Day. The wedding is at 2 P.M. It is a small wedding party of just Best man and Maid of Honor. My son and his Best man are wearing tuxedos. What should I wear. There will be 100 guests at the wedding in a wedding hall.

Dear Budlin,

Usually all men dress the same, but it is the groom's choice.

Tuxedos really are formal evening attire. Perhaps your son doesn't realize this. The cutaway or morning coat is the daytime version of the tux.

Best wishes,
