I'm getting married next October. Our colors are royal blue and silver. We have a best man, 1 groomsman and two ushers. All will be wearing the same black tuxedos. My original plan was for the groom and my father (who will be walking me down the aisle) to wear silver paisley vests and ties and the best man and groomsman to wear royal blue paisley vests and ties. I was also planning on having the ushers wear silver. Is this appropriate? I only wanted the best man and groomsman to match the bridesmaids, but do you think this will look odd? I don't really want to do a third style of vest for the ushers. All the vests will have the same pattern, just different colors and these are the only two colors available in that pattern that will match the wedding. Any suggestions?? Am I just second guessing myself?? Should I go with my instincts??

Typically the fathers, groomsmen, and ushers wear the same attire--they match. If the couple wants some differentiation, the groom and best man usually wear an alternate color.
But, it really doesn't matter. This will look fine also. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
