Should wedding tuxedos be the same for everyone in the bridal party?
Should all of the men in the bridal party including fathers, ushers, groomsmen and groom match exactly or should some have slightly different vests to distinguish the groomsmen from the ushers and fathers? The tuxedo shop asked him and he didn't know how to answer. Please help.

The groom and ringbearer should match, the fathers should match eachother, and the groomsmen should match each other.

The etiquette point of view is a bit different. Sorry.
All of the groomsmen, including the groom, dress the same with a few exceptions. The groom and at times best man may wear a slightly different material and accessories in a different color than the other groomsmen, but the suits/tuxes should all be in the same style and color. The boutonnieres may be different for the best man and groom also.
If the fathers are participating (this is usually the case), they wear the same attire as the groomsmen. If there is a divorce involved where a father is not involved, he will dress slightly better that the guests.
The ring bearer typically wears an Eton-style jacket or suit. For semi-formal weddings, the older boys can wear similar attire as the groomsmen. Attire choice is age appropriate.
