Stepfather of groom refuses to wear anything but jeans
I have a small problem with my FH's stepfather. We are having a formal ( dress pants & ties etc..) wedding and FH"s Stepfather wears only jeans and adamantly refuses to wear anything else. I am not sure of the most polite way to approach him with the fact that this type of dress is unacceptable to us. So my question is this how can i ask FSFIL to please respect our wishes and not show up in jeans?? I may be being selfish here but I want my wedding to be a nice affair not some country/western hoedown. I have stated to him politely that I would like him to please wear dress pants ( heck I'd even be happy with Khaki's) but he just outright laughs at me and says " he'll wear whatever he pleases. I find this very rude and hurtful as it is only one day out of his life and it is a small request. So please any help on how to approach this tactfully would be much appreciated.
Also I cannot ask FH to speak with him as they do not always get along very well.
Thank you.
Sincerely , Frustruated.

Dear Miravelle,
It may be best to ask your fiance to speak to his mother about her husband's attire. It is best that you don't get involved personally.
