Suit or tux for summer afternoon wedding for groom, groomsmen, father of the bride

I am having a summer afternoon wedding (3pm) Would a tux or suit be appropriate? Suit or Tux will be black. I am leaning toward a suit.

Dear Suited,
A tux is evening formal wear, so the suit would be better. If it were after 5/6 then the tux would be fine, but it should be white or cream for warmer weather.
