For a 6 PM wedding (reception following), I really want to wear tails, a grey vest and a black tie. Is this wrong?

Dear Nchantim,
Tails are worn for a very formal wedding. So, if yours is very formal, you may wear them. Usually your vest would be white and you would wear a bow tie. I suppose you could alter the color of your vest, but a bow tie is traditional.

Thanks, I had meant a bow tie. It seems to be, just from a practicial standpoint, that a white bow tie is hard to see from a distance against a white shirt.
