     Tan Suit for church wedding

I am getting married in a church at 4pm in the first of August in NC. My reception is outside and very casual with just buffet. I found what I thought was a tan tux and thought it would go great with my ivory and champagne dress and green bridesmaids' dresses. I just thought black was too formal for our reception and dark for an August wedding. But, after going to the store the tan tux was actually a tan suit. Would that still be appropriate? THANKS

Actually, since the tuxedo is for formal evening attire, a suit would be a better choice.
