Tuxes to match ivory dress and lavender bridesmaid dresses

My dress is ivory/antique white/bone with different reflective beading and we chose lavender bridesmaid dresses because that is my favorite color. Lavender probably would have gone better with a pure white dress, but this is what we have. I'm wearing shoes with gold tones (not that you can see them) and the bridesmaids are wearing silver shoes. Should all of the men in the bridal party (groom, groomsmen, father of the bride, father of the groom), wear ivory shirts if possible or just the groom?

The lavender looked too young and bubblegum like for the groomsmen's vests and ties, so we were thinking of going with silver/gray with lavender boutonnieres. However, the ivory and gray looked strange and we were thinking of putting the groomsmen in white shirts. What would look best next to the ivory dress?

For the groom, we were thinking black tie, ivory shirt, ivory vest. All ivory seemed to lack contrast. Is this the best option or do you have a better suggestion

Dear Castlebride,

All of the men should be dressed the same. The white may make your dress look dingy, but it is best to compare the colors to make sure.

The men really should be wearing lighter colored tuxes though. White or ivory is classically what is worn this time of year. So, choose the color shirt that looks best with the jackets.

As for the vests... that is something you will have to play around with. It is entirely a personal decision.

Best wishes,
